This web-based platform enables contributors of CSB (crowdsourced bathymetry) data to easily see where they’ve made contributions and gauge their support of the CSB community. This tool provides a visualization of where your vessel or vessels are making a difference in the daunting task of mapping the world’s oceans.

FarSounder joins Seabed 2030 in Mapping the World's Oceans

NOAA Awards FarSounder SBIR Grant
FarSounder has been awarded a National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Phase I grant. This award provides FarSounder funding for the research and development of a project entitled: Enabling Expanded Crowdsourced Bathymetry Contributions With High-Quality Metadata via Commercially Sustainable Incentives to Contributors.

FarSounder has approved Propspeed FoulFree as an acceptable coating for the Argos sonar array face to limit biofouling. As a result, the companies have come together to offer the first application of FoulFree at no charge with each new Argos purchase.
FarSounder’s Sonar Cable Advance Program
FarSounder has implemented the Sonar Cable Advance Program. They are offering advance delivery of their wet-mateable sonar connection cables at no charge for any qualified new build project. This program reduces the cost of installing an Argos Sonar and will make it easier for the owner's team to include the sonar system when they are selecting the rest of the navigation electronics.

The online End User Training for FarSounder’s Argos Systems has been released. It is the second in a series of training’s being released by FarSounder this year. The curriculum covers the technology, system operations, interpretation of the sonar data, and system maintenance. This training is free to all who are interested and recommended for all bridge crew and operators.

QPS Adds Direct FarSounder Integration to Qinsy
Quality Positioning Services (QPS), the experts in maritime geomatics software and services, has integrated FarSounder’s Argos Forward Looking Sonars (FLS) into their Qinsy survey software package. Argos sonar users are now able to display their FLS bathymetric data in the Qinsy platform along with the rest of the survey data they are capturing.
FarSounder on Largest Motor Yacht Built in Canada
FarSounder’s Argos 500 Forward Looking Sonar system is set to be fitted on the largest recreational motor yacht ever built in Canada. At 164-feet (50m), the groundbreaking Danzante Bay is being built by Crescent Custom Yachts near Vancouver. The vessel is slated to launch in 2021 and will be fitted with some of the most advanced navigation technology available.
